What I've worked on
End-to-end feature development
Taking a feature from the product conversation through to its behavior in production — backend, interface, and the mobile client. Role-based access control, dynamic dashboard components, and customer-facing work on marketplace, insurance and rental platforms.
discovery → backend → UI → mobile → production
Architecture & technical decisions
Contributing to the calls that are expensive to reverse: service boundaries in a twelve-service architecture, when a workload belongs in a different data store, and the long-range engineering decisions a distributed team has to live with afterwards.

Working across product and design
Seven years with product managers and designers, four of them in a consulting setting where the job is to understand someone else's product quickly, argue for the right technical shape, and stay accountable for delivery.
PM & design collaboration · technical planning · code review
APIs & distributed systems
REST API design and backend services across microservice architectures communicating over AWS infrastructure, delivered with test coverage.
REST · microservices · AWS · Sidekiq
Observability & AI
Logging, monitoring and metrics that shorten time-to-detection on production issues, plus the newer LLM-shaped version of the same problem: tracking token usage, latency and cost per request.

Codebase health
Keeping product velocity from decaying. Framework and dependency currency, clearing known CVEs, and the performance work that stops a codebase becoming the reason a feature takes three weeks instead of three days — the subject of most of my published writing.

Writing
Published on the FastRuby.io engineering blog, 2022–2026. Posts marked Ruby Weekly were picked up by the newsletter — the badge links to the issue. Grouped by the kind of judgment each piece calls for rather than by technology, because that is the part that transfers.
Evaluating technical decisions
5 posts
Weighing a change honestly before committing to it — including the ones that turn out not to be worth doing.
Communicating risk to stakeholders
3 posts
Turning technical risk into terms someone outside engineering can act on.
Measuring what things cost

Putting a number on a decision — latency, tokens, bytes shipped, allocations.

The failures that give you nothing to go on, and how to corner them anyway.
Where the platform is going

Senior Software Engineer
OmbuLabs / FastRuby.io · Remote (Philadelphia, USA)
- Design and ship customer-facing features end to end, including
role-based access control and dynamic dashboard components.
- Work embedded with distributed US product teams, contributing to
architecture discussions, technical planning and long-range
engineering decisions — not only implementation.
- Lead Ruby and Rails modernization on production-critical
applications, clearing security vulnerabilities and dependency
conflicts that were slowing feature delivery.
- Author the engineering articles above — 20 published on the
FastRuby.io blog, three of them picked up by Ruby Weekly, the Ruby
community’s main weekly newsletter.

Software Engineer, Full-stack
Youse Seguros · São Paulo, Brazil
- Delivered customer-facing features for digital insurance products,
working directly with product managers and designers to keep technical
decisions aligned across service boundaries.
- Built and maintained backend services across a 12-service microservice
architecture communicating over AWS infrastructure, delivered with
full test coverage.
- Improved observability through logging, monitoring and metrics,
shortening detection and troubleshooting time on production issues,
inside an engineering organization of roughly 500 people.
Jan 2020 – Sep 2021
Software Engineer, Full-stack
TemporadaLivre · Remote, Brazil
- Owned features end to end for a vacation rental platform, from the
Rails backend through to the React Native mobile client, including the
UI work aimed at usability.
- Led modernization of the legacy Rails application, improving security,
maintainability and background job performance.
Aug 2019 – Jan 2020
Software Engineer, Full-stack
Zimobi · Remote, Brazil
- Built and maintained Rails and React applications for a house rental
platform, working across the platform API in a team of five.
- Designed and delivered RESTful API endpoints and backend features,
working through code review with senior engineers.
